Fixed Standard Commission Income Rates for Specific Product Categories
So, for example, if you’re promoting PC components, you’ll earn 2.5%; if you’re promoting home improvement items, it’s 3%.
But it doesn’t only have to be an individual product details page; you can send traffic to search results pages, the home page, or any related page on Amazon’s site.

NB But before you get too much excited, remember Amazon has low commission rates. Just because you’re linking product to a product page or a search page it doesn’t mean you’ll earn money hand over fist.
How Long Does It Take To Earn Amazon Commissions after A Visitor Clicks Your Affiliate Link?
Amazon’s affiliate program operates on a 24-hour cookie duration. This means that once a visitor clicks on your affiliate link, you have a 24-hour window to earn a commission on any qualifying purchases they make on Amazon.
If the visitor makes a purchase within that 24-hour period, you are eligible for the commission on that sale.
For example, if they clicked your affiliate link, added the item you were promoting to their cart, and then added three other products unrelated to your website, you’d get the commission for the entire purchase – not only your item.
Let’s say your product links to a $25 toy carrying a 3% commission, but your visitor also bought $150 worth of luxury beauty items at 10%; you’d get both your regular 3% rate and the higher 10% rate for the beauty items.
$25 toy at 3% = $0.75
$150 worth of luxury beauty items at 10% = $15
So, you’d get a $15.75 commission for the entire sale
It’s important to note that different affiliate programs may have different cookie durations, and Amazon’s policies can change.

Can I Use My Affiliate Link To Purchase Product Am Promoting And Make More Money?
Using your own affiliate link for personal purchases on Amazon to earn commission is against Amazon’s affiliate program policies. The Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement explicitly prohibits this practice.
If you violate this policy, Amazon may take actions such as suspending or terminating your affiliate account, withholding any earned commissions, or taking legal action towards you.
It’s essential to adhere to the terms and conditions of affiliate programs to maintain a good relationship with the platform and ensure that you continue to earn commissions legitimately.
How Do Amazon Affiliate Get Paid?
There are payment method
- Through gift card
- By direct deposit
- Directly into your bank account.
Amazon pay you commission income on a monthly basis through any of the ways above.
Within an approximately 60 days after the end of each month, they will either send you a cheque, send you an Amazon Gift Certificate or deposit your commissions directly into your bank account.
If you wish to use Bank Transfer, you will have to provide the name of your bank, your account number, your bank’s sort number, and the name of the primary account holder as it appears in the bank’s records.
If you do not have a bank account with a bank in the country of operations, you will need to supply the following information for your bank account:
- IBAN (International Bank Account Number): The IBAN is an international number for your account which facilitates processing for cross-border transactions.
- BIC (Bank Identifier Code): The BIC is a unique global code for a credit institution.
By using this information they can carry out cross-border transfers.
If you are being paid by Amazon Gift Certificate or bank transfer, they will not send payment until the total amount due is at least USD 10. If you are being paid by cheque, they will not send payment until the total amount due is at least USD 100.
